CCII: Completion of Olubadan Palace my topmost priority – Presidential candidate, Ajeniyi Ajewole declares

As the tenure of the incumbent executives of the CENTRAL COUNCIL FOR IBADAN INDIGENES (CCII), lapse this year, Barrister Suleiman Ajeniyi Ajewole has submitted his nomination form for the post of President General of the association.

On Friday, several affiliate club members and individuals trooped into the national secretariat of the association, Ibadan House, Oke-Are to express their support for Candidate Barrister Ajewole.

The Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes is an umbrella body of over 200 socio-cultural clubs of Ibadan both at home and in the diaspora.

Earlier Barrister Ajewole and his supporters had visited the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Olalekan Balogun, and his Advisory Council members who are High Chiefs, at his palace for royal blessings.

Meanwhile in an interview with AIM FM TV, The CCII President General Candidate, Barr. Ajewole listed the completion of the N4 billion Olubadan palace complex, the establishment of a microfinance Bank as a source of income for the association, making the association the official voice of Ibadan indigenes, home and in diaspora, quality education, security for Ibadan land amongst others as his topmost priority.

Ajeniyi said: “Our topmost priority is that the Olubadan moves to the new palace quickly and the creation of Ibadan state, the project is aimed at stopping Olubadans from using their residences as palaces, due to the absence of a befitting central palace.”

“The N4 billion palace complex was launched by the CCII about five years ago and I promise if elected within the first year of my tenure I would ensure a provide the Olubadan a befitting palace.”

Speaking on providing a source of income for the association, the President General candidate of the association said, “Another thing is the fact that we are going to create a revenue source for the CCII, in the past years the council has been surviving on donation and what we get from Ibadan week celebration but towards the end of my second year of i would work on providing a microfinance bank for my association.”

Speaking further, Barr Ajewole who promised to unite all Ibadan indigenes and push for all-round development of the ancient city noted his administration would ensure that political heads and all socio-cultural groups collaborate to secure the region against external attacks.

Leading the supporters and well wishers of Barr Ajeniyi, One of the founding members of Oluyole Social Elite and also the Chairman Board of Trustees, Chief Diekola Onaolapo recognised Ajewole to be a candidate with proven personal capacity, who also has good leadership traits, and as such, is the person Ibadan needs at a point like this.

Meanwhile, the President of the Oluyole Progressive Union U.K, Balogun Gaphar Ojetola while speaking the our correspondent said, ” great leaders surrounds themselves with esteemed advisers and I can speak for a fact that Barr, Ajewole who is also a brother to us is a good listener, and we have all contributed to his manifestos which we believe he would executive them if he wins the election”
